Take the Scales & Modes Quiz! Test your knowledge of music theory, and your ability to recognize major and minor diatonic scales and modes. It’s a great way to train your ear and to master one of the trickiest parts of music theory.
During the quiz, various scales and modes will be randomly shown on the musical staff. Choose whatever root note you like and listen to the scale, then it’s up to you to guess which scale or mode it is. For an even more difficult challenge, hide the notes and identify the scale by sound alone!

The app works fine. Some terminology is unfortunately repeating misleading jazz lingo, like "jazz minor" - there are many jazz minor modes but the app calls melodic minor that way.
Sweet ear trainer plays one of any number of scales and modes, and you try to choose which one. This is superb ear training for the intermediate to advanced musician. If youre a beginner the paid version might be better since it lets you explore scales and modes that you might not already know.
This is an exceptional practice application for musicians. You have the opportunity to master basic scales, and recognize the pitches of the major and harmonic minor scale modes in any key.
It would be nice if you could choose just a subset to be tested on.
Good program but for some lessons are for intermediate & up to practice. I need to read or review my music background more to do the test of this app.
